Sometimes You Just Need It
Most of the interactions you have on dating apps are a complete waste of time. Even worse, you can spend hours chatting and cautiously exchanging pictures, then when you think you are about to meet, they disappear or come up with some lame excuse. Frustrating!
I have a clear statement on my profile, ‘Timewasters, go annoy some other poor soul, if you are serious, hit me up.’ Does it work? Well I still get my fair share of time wasters!
Then there are those whose photos are either at least a decade old, or of someone else completely. Even worse, you meet but don’t fancy them. Awkward.
That said, something keeps us coming back, and that is ‘blind hope’, perhaps someone genuine is out there, who might be just what you are looking for, and you might be what they want or need too.
Once in a blue moon that the stars align.
One Friday night I was at a loose end, and found myself on that desperate site that we are all a bit sniffy about. It is actually still one of the easiest places to find that quick fix. Back in the day, you would get dressed up, head into town, find the type of bar that had people just as desperate as you, and take your chances. At least then you knew they had made the effort to turn up, so the keyboard timewasters were excluded.
Unfortunately, if like me, you were from a working class town that time forgot, there were no specialist bars for singles...
