Every footstep felt as if Tetsu were moving through a viscous liquid. His face grew warm up to his elven ears, and his pulse raced as he followed the vampire through the house — their feet carrying them upstairs. “Wait.” Tetsu brushed some of his long black hair behind an ear.
Zagan turned as his hand rested on the door handle. “Come on, baby, you’ve been repressing yourself. It isn’t healthy.”
“It’s pissing me off!” Tetsu clenched his fist at his side.
Zagan’s smile became deviously dark, his red eyes glistening. “Then express your anger toward me. Let it out.” He hesitated no longer and opened the door to his bedroom.
Tetsu stood inside the door frame and wrapped his arms around himself. The walls were bathed in crimson and the carpet a plush black that matched the bed itself, which was covered by a dark mesh draping from the ceiling. A bench that would have served better in a medieval dungeon jutted out from the wall as it strained on thick chains, the wood covered by a black leather cushion. Candles melted on the dresser and windows. Also black.
Tetsu sighed. It was all so disgustingly Goth. “Do you have to be such a cliché vampire?” he droned. “At least have some uniqueness.”
