As someone who enjoys bottoming, I didn’t find this story to be negative towards those tendencies. At the same time, the small-statured ‘nerds’ wanted to top but were denied that by objects of their desire because of their stature. And, the story is a fantasy, even if it is revenge based; it would be hard to say that Melvin’s efforts could inform a would-be rapist in his desires. Like Brad in the comments here, I would have loved to have that control over some of my bullies also!!
Fantasy people, fantasy! Jerry, even among our own, there are many who are bottom oriented. Acknowledging that in a fantasy story is not harmful, as long as the fantasy aspect is clear, and it is. The fact that Darrin “gets what’s coming to him”, and the coach does as well, are purely fictional dreams, but even for me, they hold a glimmer of what might have been, at least in my young pubescent days in the closet, where my bullies forced me. I have long realized these fantasies would never be, but time has not reduced their mental satisfaction.
It doesn’t quite pass the consensual sex litmus test even though everyone he’s used the formula on has been a rapist so there is a n eye for on eye justice vibe to it. Pretty much your standard revenge of the nerds story, but an entertaining read. ?
So for those naysayers. This is a fantasy story. Big deal. Is it any worse than the violent video games today? No. Its a fun story and I love it! How I wish I could have had control for even one day of some of my bullies!!!
This story, like many of your stories degrade gay men always making out to be less of a man. I for one do not consider myself less manly because I like to bottom, that doesn’t make me feminine in any way. This site should try and find stories that uplift the gay experience, not degrade it.
