It had been over two weeks since I’d seen my favorite sheriff. I’m not sure a lot of people that write these stories know about “less is more” in non-essential descriptions and getting ages of characters out of whack. And the dialogue. Some good, most bad.
Please don’t “write” stories while you’re messing around with your phone or other electronics.

Then don’t read it. It’s adult fantasy, not reality. All ‘participants’ are of age, and no character is being forced into anything they do not wish to do.
Ron, you should’ve stopped reading after the first chapter but you did not and waited til chapter 7, you enjoyed it all.
